My uncle, David Garber, was diagnosed with ALS in 2009 and sadly passed away from the incurable disease this past October. Compassionate Care ALS (CCALS), an essential non-profit that provides goods, services, guidance and emotional support to ALS patients and their families, assisted my uncle during his 14 year battle. The CCLAS staff members are passionate, hard working and truly caring people that devote their lives to helping those in need. My family could not have navigated life over the last decade without them.

To assist CCALS in their support of others suffering with ALS, my family and friends established “David’s Old Silver Swim”, a fundraiser every August in North Falmouth, MA. Please join us on August 10 if you are able! www.davidsoldsilverswim.com

To add to the swim’s fundraising goals, Yummy Mummy Bakery is once again selling our signature box of decadent brownies, complete with a “Sink ALS” plaque. Please consider buying a box for yourself or as a gift for a friend, loved one or someone that needs a little sweetness right now. Brownies, including your own personalized gift note, will be shipped upon ordering. We ship throughout the US.  All proceeds from the online David's Old Silver Swim brownie sales will be donated to the swim and ultimately to CCALS. Please order now thru Friday, August 9.

Lastly, if you are local to Westboro, MA, you can also stop into the bakery on Friday, August 9, when ALL bakery proceeds from that day will be donated. What a sweet way to help CCALS and treat yourself too.

My uncle was one of a kind and an inspiration to those that knew him. He was passionate about life, had a spot-on sense of humor and gave advice with care and consideration. He was a fighter and taught me to live in the moment, to appreciate what I have and to live my best life each and every day.

Thank you!

With lots of love, hope and strength,

Melissa Roiter
